Macarena Jiménez Granda

Macarena Jiménez Granda serves as the Senior Director of the Labor Unit at Partners of the Americas. Throughout her more than 17 years of professional experience, Macarena has led diverse projects requiring the development of cross-sector partnerships between key stakeholders from the public and private sectors, non-governmental organizations, trade unions, and civil society organizations (CSOs) in Paraguay. Macarena has demonstrated experience and skills in following USG rules and regulations through the implementation of cooperative agreements and grants funded by USDOL and USDOS.

 

Prior to joining Partners, Macarena worked as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Paraguay Educa Association, as Director of the Observatory on Citizen Security of the Ministry of Interior of Paraguay, and as a consultant of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR). She also worked in the management of social projects funded by different cooperation agencies, including the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

 

Macarena holds a master’s degree in international cooperation for development from the Complutense University of Madrid, an MBA from the Carlos III University of Madrid, and a law degree from the Catholic University of Asunción, Paraguay, among other postgraduate studies in international development, compliance, and political marketing.

 

Macarena is fluent in English and Spanish.
