Partners of the Americas Wins USAID FY24-FY28 John Ogonowski and Doug Bereuter Farmer-to-Farmer Caribbean Basin Program

The program will run from October 1, 2023, to September 30, 2028.

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Bureau for Resilience, Environment, and Food Security awarded Partners of the Americas (Partners) the FY24-FY28 John Ogonowski and Doug Bereuter Farmer-to-Farmer Caribbean Basin Program, to be implemented in the Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Guyana, and Jamaica.

Since 1991, Partners’ Farmer-to-Farmer (F2F) program has been transforming lives in over 30 countries in Latin America, the Caribbean, Africa, and Asia. Under this award, Partners will continue building on its accomplishments over the last five years, including recruiting 536 volunteers to train over 23,000 individuals across Latin America and the Caribbean.

The objectives of this new award are to 1) increase climate adaptation and resilience among vulnerable and marginalized populations in the agriculture sector; and 2) generate inclusive agricultural development in the Caribbean Basin by specifically engaging women, youth, Indigenous and marginalized populations involved in agricultural activities. The program will leverage volunteer technical assistance to achieve these objectives.

Partners will focus on driving rapid, sustained, and inclusive economic growth within the targeted agricultural sectors of the program countries. Additionally, Partners will address critical environmental and natural resources management issues that impact these sectors.

“This presents an exciting new opportunity for Partners, and we extend an invitation to potential new hosts and partners who share our vision to reach out. We would like to express our gratitude to past hosts, local partners, and volunteers for their dedication and contributions in helping Partners connect, serve, and transform lives in the region,” said Sheila Posas, Senior Director, Agriculture & Food Security.
