Public Health Nutrition Science Advisor

Partners of the Americas is recruiting for a Public Health Nutrition Science Advisor to join its prospective staff in the implementation of the USAID-funded Food Fortification project Fòtifye Manje pou Ranfòse Sante (“Strengthening Food to Boost Health”) (FÒTIFYE) in Haiti. The Advisor is expected to play a key role in ensuring that the short-term aim of Large Scale Food Fortification (LSFF) does not compromise the longer-term goal of improving health. They will be expected to work with external partners to further that goal. This position will report to the Chief of Party and will be designated local field staff based in Haiti.  

Essential/Primary Functions

  • Provide technical input to ensure that LSFF activities align with public health principles.
  • Serve as the in-house public health and nutrition expert and will advise the Chief of Party, and work in parallel with the LSFF Specialist.
  • Identify opportunities to improve nutrition and wellbeing, particularly for the most disadvantaged.

Qualifications & Minimum Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Nutrition or Public Health
  • At least five (5) years of experience in a public health, with demonstrated expertise in maternal & child health and/or nutrition;
  • Previous experience in the implementation and/or management of public health programs
  • Proven experience working with policy-makers at national level;
  • Competent understanding of how LSFF works in a public health context;
  • Strong oral and written communication and presentations skills in French and English; working knowledge of Haitian Creole is highly desired.
