Partners of the Americas seeks a detail-oriented and dedicated intern to provide integral support to its Finance and Administration (F&A) unit. F&A oversees all of the financial, administrative and accounting functions for Partners of the Americas, domestically and overseas. This is a unique learning experience for those studying finance or accounting to expand their skills in the non-profit sector.
Requirements
Rising Senior student currently enrolled (or graduated last year) in an accredited college/program, or associate degree in General Business; International Business; Finance; or Accounting.
Qualifications / Skills:
- Strong written and oral skills in English. Spanish skills preferred.
- Knowledge of management, accounting, finance, or business administration principles.
- Ability to multi-task efficiently and accurately.
- Ability to interface with clients and staff.
- Impeccable attitude towards confidentiality and ability to use discretion.
- A demonstrated eagerness to learn and take on new challenges, including openness to direction and feedback and a willingness to ask questions.
- Commitment of at least 3 days in the office, or 24 hours a week.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team and with an impeccable work ethic.
- Eligible to work in the U.S.
Key Deliverables:
- Book-keeping tasks such as accounts payable and preparing general ledger entries.
- Assist in ongoing projects such as external audits and fee-for-service initiatives.
- Provide administrative support for office management and HR functions.
- Develop self-directed learning goals to measure progress and achievement.
- Internship can be formatted to match specific learning goals within the areas of administration, finance, and accounting field.
