Partners of the Americas seeks two interns for its Resource Development Unit to start January 2011.

Partners of the Americas (www.partners.net ), a non-profit organization that connects people to serve and change lives, as well as promotes economic and social development and citizen participation in the Latin America and the Caribbean, seeks two self-motivated and dedicated individuals to provide support to its Resource Development Unit. The Unit works with Partners’ staff in identifying and responding to funding opportunities throughout the Latin American and Caribbean region around a broad array of technical issues.

The Resource Development Interns will assist Partners of the Americas’ Resource Development Unit in preparing proposals that respond to funding opportunities from USAID, US Department of Labor, US Department of State and other donor organizations. The Intern will: provide background research support for the preparation of proposals; assist in the recruitment of specialist consultants; participate in the development of cost and technical portions of the proposal; and assist in the production of all proposals. 

Requirements:

  • Read, speak and write Spanish
  • Excellent English writing skills
  • Research background
  • Strong communication skills
  • Detailed oriented  
  • Knowledge of and interest in one or more of the following areas: Latin America, international development, proposal development, grant writing
  • Ability to process information quickly

The Intern will gain valuable experience and understanding in proposal development and grant writing process for US government and other donors.
