Partners of the Americas is an international network. Founded in 1964, Partners is a private non-profit, non-partisan organization with international offices in Washington, DC. Partners envisions an interconnected hemisphere that maximizes the social and economic potential, and leverages the full diversity, of the Americas.
Partners of the Americas seeks a self-motivated and dedicated intern to provide support to its Professional Leadership Exchanges. These exchanges promote leadership development and mutual understanding, and work to address common challenges across borders ranging from climate change to small business development to health policy.
The Professional Exchanges Intern will assist the Director and Program Officers in the on-going planning and coordination for participant selection, travel, and follow-on projects. This includes assistance with outreach to local volunteers throughout the Americas, development of promotional materials, design of travel activities, and administrative and logistical support to all program activities.
Requirements:
- Read, speak and write Spanish or Portuguese
- Excellent English writing skills
- Strong communication skills
- Current or recent student or graduate student in related field
- Highly motivated
- Must enjoy working in a dynamic, team-oriented environment
- Attention to detail
- Knowledge of and interest in the following areas: Latin America, leadership development, volunteerism, exchanges, community development, social networking
- Evaluation and monitoring knowledge and experience a plus
