Partners of the Americas believes that an involved citizenry is essential to a strong society and healthy communities. Partners of the Americas’ Center for Civil Society brings citizens together across sectors to identify common concerns and formulate solutions. We promote constructive citizen participation in the social, economic, and political decision-making processes that impact the region. At the same time, we seek to encourage open and accessible government institutions as a necessary counterpart for this constructive citizen participation.
Partners’ Center combines field experience and technical analysis in the areas of citizen participation and development in Latin America. Our core capacities include: building networks of civil society organizations (CSOs) and developing CSO capacity; promoting government accountability to citizens and strengthening local government capacity; administering grants to community organizations; and serving as a clearinghouse of information and resources.
Currently, Partners’ Center is tackling the pressing issues of judicial reform, local government strengthening, anti-corruption and transparency, economic growth, and hemispheric policymaking. |
