What is a partnership?
A partnership consists of two chapters – one from a U.S. state or area, and the other from a Latin American or Caribbean country or region. For instance, the U.S. state of Minnesota is paired with Uruguay , South America . A partnership is a long-term, interdependent relationship in which no partner chapter is dominant. Together, chapters that form a partnership jointly plan mutually-beneficial educational and socio-economic development projects. They then mobilize the human and financial resources to implement them.

How do I join a chapter?
The best way to get involved is to first contact your local chapter to learn more about its activities and projects. We suggest that you ask your local chapter leaders about their chapter committees, which generally are organized around particular themes (education, rehabilitation, agriculture) or functions (recruitment, fundraising, public relations). Also, share with them your interests and how you could contribute. Partners chapters welcomes all individuals willing to give their time and skills. Check out our Get Involved section for suggestions on the variety of ways in which you might contribute to Partners.

How can I travel with Partners of the Americas ?

Partnerships focus on implementing these collaborative development projects. Input into a given project could include the travel of a professional who has a specific role in either providing or receiving training; technical assistance or another activity related to the project. Generally, this is where international travel either to or from the U.S. or Latin American/Caribbean chapters takes place.

Do I have to be a member to make a donation to Partners of the Americas ?
