Colombia Fellows Eligibility

Fellows are selected based on outstanding performance and the ability to play leadership roles in their organizations. Partners uses a competitive approach in selecting participants. All applicants must fulfill the following criteria: 

• Be a citizen of Colombia.
• Have a strong interest as well as actively engaged in issues of climate change OR actively engaged in communications or disaster preparedness and interested in utilizing these skills in Climate Change mitigation.
• Mid-level professional or established community leader.
• Able to participate in the program a minimum of 4-8 weeks during the time period of August 1^st, 2011 to October 30th, 2011.
• Demonstrate commitment to community service.
• Belong or be willing to become a Partners volunteer in your region
• Have approval from current employer to take a leave of absence.
• Able to adapt to new environmental surroundings and challenges.
• Professional-level proficiency in English. Candidates will be interviewed over the phone to assess their language ability.

US Fellows Eligibility

•  Be a citizen of the United States or a greencard holder.
•  Have a strong interest as well as actively engaged in issues of climate change OR actively engaged in communications or disaster preparedness and interested in utilizing these skills in Climate Change mitigation.
•  Mid-level professional or established community leader.
•  Able to participate in the program for 2 weeks during the month of July 2011.
•  Demonstrate commitment to community service.
•  Belong or be willing to become a member of the Partners chapter in your region.
•  Have approval from current employer to take a leave of absence.
•  Able to adapt to new environmental surroundings and challenges.
•  Spanish language skills preferred, but not required.

The Climate Change Fellows Program is funded by the US Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and implemented by Partners of the America in collaboration with Partners’ chapters in Colombia, Florida, South Carolina, and Massachusetts.
