Technology Strategy Intern
Partners of the Americas seeks a part-time intern with strong organizational skills to provide strategic technology and IT support to its DC staff. The successful candidate will be working directly with the IT Specialist on multiple assignments, including a hardware organization and donation project and the website redesign.
This position is ideally suited for a student currently enrolled in undergraduate studies with an interest in IT, technology, and/or nonprofit work. Must be available to work in our DC office 2-3 days/week. The dates of the internship are flexible with an ideal start date of November 15th. This intern will receive a daily stipend.
Child Protection Unit Intern – Spring 2020
Partners of the Americas (Partners) is seeking a self-motivated and dedicated individual to provide integral support to its Child Protection Unit (CPU).
The CPU works to combat the worst forms of child labor through direct services and capacity building initiatives in partnership with international and local organizations and collaborating with country governments. The CPU currently implements USAID, USDOL, and DOS programs in Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, and Paraguay.
This internship is ideal for a junior or senior level college student with a passion for international affairs, particularly international human rights and development. The internship will offer insight into the workings of international cooperation agencies and implementation of development projects, both from an administrative as well as a programmatic perspective.
In addition to gaining professional work experience, the selected candidate will have the opportunity to network within Partners’ international alliance of NGOs and among NGO leaders in Washington DC. While the internship will not involve international travel, the selected candidate will be expected to participate in meetings with international stakeholders of the projects.
Education & Global Citizenship (Exchanges Programming & Grants Management)
Partners of the Americas seeks a self-motivated and detailed-oriented intern to support tasks involving the recruitment, application, selection, and monitoring of individual grants competitions for programs under the Education and Global Citizenship unit.Partners of the Americas administers the U.S. Exchange Alumni Network and Capacity Building Program to engage U.S. alumni of U.S. Department of State programs to expand upon their exchange experience and use skills developed abroad to address shared challenges through regional professional development seminars across the U.S. and a small grants program competition. Additionally, this position supports tasks leading up to the implementation of the Buenos Aires Provincial Youth Leaders program including planning and design, and support the day to day activities required to execute the orientation, travel and follow-up phases of the programs taking place in the "sending" country, Washington, DC, and a "host" US state/Latin American country. Interns may also support other event planning initiatives such as Career Connections seminars.
Finance and Accounting Internship
Partners of the Americas seeks a detail -oriented and dedicated intern to provide integral support to its Finance and Administration (F&A) unit. F&A oversees all of the financial, administrative and accounting functions for Partners of the Americas, domestically and overseas. This is a unique learning experience for those studying finance or accounting to expand their skills in the non-profit sector.
Youth Engagement Intern
As an intern for the Youth Engagement unit, you will support tasks leading up to the implementation of YE programs including planning and design, and will support the day to day activities required to execute the promotion and selection, orientation, travel and follow-up phases of the programs taking place in the "sending" country, Washington, DC, and a "host" US state/Latin American country. Interns may also support other youth related initiatives.
Program Development Internship
Partners of the Americas seeks a self- motivated and dedicated intern to provide integral support to its Program Development (PD) unit. The PD unit works with Partners staff and network of chapters, organizations, and institutions throughout the Western Hemisphere to identify and respond to funding opportunities around a broad array of technical, thematic, and development issues.
Business Management Internship Program
Partners of the Americas is currently looking for enthusiastic students to participate in our 2018 Business Management Internship program to assist the Executive Office. This position calls for an energetic and well organized individual with excellent writing, proofreading, and interpersonal skills.
