Inmersión Cultural en Español - Overview

Our two week Spanish Language and Cultural Immersion Program is an excellent opportunity for teachers, students, volunteers, or anybody who wants to learn Spanish and have the experience of a lifetime. During the summer, you can travel to beautiful Antigua, Guatemala. This 16th century city was the Spanish colonial capital of the Americas. UNESCO has proclaimed Antigua "a colonial monument to humanity."

Staying at the picturesque Hotel-Museo Uxlabil (located one and half blocks from the main plaza), you will have the opportunity to interact with the local people, practice your Spanish, expand your knowledge of Guatemala's fascinating history and culture, travel, and make new friends. Antigua is the most exotic place for you to be immersed  in a unique blend of Spanish and Maya cultures.

"La  Union" Language School of Antigua

"Centro Linguistico La Union" is an excellent Spanish school located within walking distance of the Hotel-Museo Uxlabil. It has successfully prepared hundreds of Peace Corps volunteers, diplomats from around the world, airline employees, and many international students. The school's focus is intensive with individualized instruction. It can accomodate the beginner with no experience speaking Spanish, as well as the advanced student seeking to completely master the language. Your teacher will tailor your program to meet your specific needs and interests. La Union is accredited through La Universidad Rural de Guatemala, the Guatemalan Ministry of Education, and INGUAT (the Guatemalan Tourism Board).

 
Spanish speaking activities are included daily, such as visits to cultural centers, a coffee farm tour, preparing typical foods, dance classes of salsa and merengue, and climbing a volcano!

Weekend excursions to the amazing Maya city of Tikal, and breathtaking Lake Atitlan are also included in our itinerary. All activities and excursions are in Spanish, and guided by a tour operator or a bilingual instructor.

Prices and dates

We offer two programs during the month of July. Our first program is from July 1st to July 14th, 2008. The second is from July 15th to July 28th. The price is only $1,990! It includes one-on-one Spanish classes, school tuition, books, all breakfasts, lodging, all transportation within Guatemala, entrance fees for all scheduled activities and weekend excursions, and much more! The price does not include airfare to and from Guatemala. Limited space available.
